i love to go swimming. i'm a terrible swimmer. in fact, i don't think i can even say that i "swim" when i'm in the water. i took swimming lessons as a kid; i think that's what did it. swimming lessons pretty much entailed getting thrown in the deep end and having to "swim" to the person out there waiting. i mean, huh? but nonetheless, i do like to be in the water.
i've been home sick with some kind of stomach bug the past two days (along with about 5 other colleagues) and i've been able to watch a lot of olympic swimming. it is just amazing to me that human bodies can do what they can do. these swimmers are just amazing... not to mention all of the other athletes who are tumbling, running, diving, etc.
perhaps something that amazes me as much as the athletes is the photography. these amazing moments are captured by the most incredibly talented photographers. i'm guessing it is just as much pressure to capture the moment properly as it is to perform the moment being captured.
