every time i hear the cure i am always reminded of my cousin, jessie. she's the complete opposite of goth, i assure you. but her favorite all-time song is 'a letter to elise.' which is why she named her first-born elise. thankfully it worked out that she was a girl.

i love my cousin dearly, and although we aren't as close as we once were, i still consider her my best friend in the whole entire world.

and the drama continues

please, please someone tell me you saw the news conference of palin quitting the governorship today. as a public affairs professional, the news release, as well as the planning and execution of and news conference itself, were a disaster. did anyone else see the shot of the news conference where they showed the audience? it looked like she gathered up some "less-than-stylish" neighbors and proceeded with a huge bombshell announcement. completely unprepared, babbling... ugh.

i'm just exhausted thinking about that mess.
